Three Japanese Guests Came to SAUSept. 19-23, 2006, three guests of Japan headed by Prof. Fujida, Prefectural University of Hiroshima, came to visit SAU. They came to renew the cooperative agreement of an academic exchange between two universities. They were escorted round our campus and visited the library and some labs of the Animal Nutrition Center. Then they went to survey the production base of the Chinese medicine ¡ª Achyranthes in Tianquan county
The Title ¡°Advanced Unit of 2006¡± Awarded to the International Office of Exchange and Cooperation SAU by the Educational Bureau of Sichuan Province
March 2007, the International Office of Exchange and Cooperation SAU was awarded the title of ¡°Advanced Unit of 2006¡± by the Educational Bureau of Sichuan Province for their excellent work of university¡¯s foreign affairs assigned by the Personnel Bureau of Sichuan Province.
Russian Guests Visited Our Rice Research Institute
Aug. 14-26, 2006, Kovalev Victor, Zelensky G.L and Kostina S.S from the Russian Rice Institute had an academic exchange in our Rice Institute. They three made academic discussions with our scholars on the theory of ¡°Breeding of Health Hybrid Rice and Definite Location of the Gene of Red Rice¡±.
An Academic Exchange between China and Netherlands in SAU
July 24-27, 2006, Dr. Sjoukje Osinga from Wahelingen University of Netherlands came and made an investigation in the College of Economic Management of SAU about ¡°Pork Supply Chain in China¡± and the possibilities of some other academic exchanges in the future.
A Canadian Specialist Made a Brief Call at SAU
July 10, 2006, Mr. Zhang Zhi, a notable Canadian scientist, made a brief call at SAU and had a discussion with some partners of his in SAU about the sustainable and practicable development technology of grass engineering in Aba Areas of Sichuan. He also made a discussion about cooperation with us.
The ¡°4S-Seminar of Animal Nutrition and Feed of China¡± Held in SAU
July 7-9, 2006, the ¡°4S-Seminar of Animal Nutrition and Feed of China¡± was held in SAU. Five Canadian scholars came to the seminar and Dr. Kevin Liu, Prof. Windish Telefoniert and Dr. Micheal Boddington delivered their papers titled as ¡°The Control of Feed Quality and the Application of the Infrared Fast Detective Technology¡±, ¡° New Feed Additives to Meet Current Challenging of Animal Production¡± and ¡°Technical Service Philosophy and Approaches in Feed Industry¡±.
Guests of South Korea Came to Visit SAU
A three-people delegation led by Jae-dong Chung, Dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Kyungpook National University, came to our university on June 30, 2006 for a 3-day visit. They were received by our President Wen and some other relative scholars. Meetings were held in discussion about the academic exchange of teaching staffs and students, as well as the exchange of educational and agricultural information. The two parties agreed to carry out academic activities in the future on the principled basis of equality and mutual benefit.
Dr. David E. Rothstein & Dr. Zhao Qing, Michigan State Univ. USA, made a 3-Day Visit in SAU
June 6 -- 9, 2006 They came for an academic exchange and Dr. Rothstein delivered a lecture "Forestry Soil Biology Geography Chemistry & Soil Carbon". A two-side talk was held to discuss a long period cooperation in research of the upper reaches of the Changjiang River .
Experts from Japan visited SAU
May 31, 2006 Prof. Susumu Terakawa and Dr. Takashi Sakurai of Phototherapy Medical Research Center of Hamamatsu University School of Medicine of Japan came to SAU for an academic discussion about how to get and label signals in live cells.
Canadian experts gave lectures at SAU
May 23--26, 2006 Prof. Gauri S.Mittal, Food Engineering College of Guelph Univ. Canada , gave 3 lectures in SAU:
1."Edible Packaging for Meat, Leafy Vegetables, Herbs and Cookies to Replace Expanded Polystyrene"

Relative teachers and postgraduates of SAU showed great interest and had exchanges with the lecturer.
Consul General of Chengdu German Consulate General Came to SAU
May 19, 2006 Mr. Guo Simao, the consul general, and Ms. Guo, escorted by a group of officials led by Mr. Xu Xing, the head of European-American Bureau of Sichuan Provincial Foreign Affairs, visited SAU. They were welcomed by the German returnees of the university and our leaders attended the meeting in ceremony. The Consul General couple and the other guests were showed around the campus, visited the exhibition hall of the school and had talks with the German returnees.
Guo said that he is made a very deep impression of SAU for we have too many German returnees. He believes that SAU and universities of Germany could have great potential of cooperation in the fields of agricultural products, non-staple foods and education. The relationship between SAU and Germany will be greatly improved.
President Wen (SAU) spoke highly of the job having been done by the Chengdu German Consulate General since it was set up. All guests gladly received souvenirs presented by the president and quite agreed with the president's idea to enhance academic and economic co-operations. Respectively the Consul changed ideas with Prof. Deng Liangji (Vice-Secretary of the University Party Committee), Prof. Zhu Qing (Vice-President of the University) and Prof. Yang Wenyu (Vice-President of the University).
Dr. David Gilstrsp , Michigan State Univ. USA, Came to Inspect the Teaching Conditions of Sino-America Turf Science Program of SAU
May 16 -- 18, 2006 Dr. David Gilstrsp, "Mr. Coordinator" of Sino-America Turf Science Program, came to inspect the teaching conditions of Sino-America Turf Science Program of SAU and did preparation work for the coming American semester in the fall. He was deeply impressed and greatly satisfied when visited the school farm, the turf science labs and the experiment base and s howed around the campus.

Feb. 21--23, 2006 Mr. Vaupel and Mr. Fred, bamboo-shoots-and-bamboo-products-trade scholars of Hamburg Bamboos Institute Germany came to the Dujiangyan campus of SAU for an academic visit and exchange.
Delegation of Minnesota USA Visited the Wheat Institute of SAU
Feb. 22, 2006 Escorted by Mr. Zhao Xueqian, the vice director of Sichuan Provincial Agricultural Department, a delegation of 33 members of "Agricultural & Rural Leaders Training Program" of Minnesota State USA visited the Wheat Institute of SAU. The guests showed great interests in the Sample Room of Wheat Varieties, the Perennial Plant Garden , the Cytology Lab and the Microphotography Lab in the Institute.
